A Conversation with Breitbart’s Alex Marlow

Class Description
Alex Marlow, Editor-in-Chief of Breitbart News, makes his third virtual visit to EmpowerU. He will discuss the pressing news and issues of the week and dedicate ample time for audience questions.
Speaker Bio
Alex Marlow met Andrew Breitbart when Alex was still in college at University of California – Berkeley. Andrew was making waves in the “new media” space and had given a talk to a gathering of young conservatives, and Alex was in the audience. After the speech, Alex struck up a conversation with Andrew, and the two hit it off. Soon after, Alex started working part-time for Andrew while still in college, and joined him full time upon graduation – he was Breitbart’s first employee, working in Andrew’s basement. (And yes, you are correct that he was basically a personal assistant at first. One of his key duties was making sure there was plenty of Diet Coke in the fridge!)
As Alex learned the ropes in the new media business, the company grew rapidly, and Alex’s duties expanded dramatically. He rose to editor-in-chief after the untimely passing of Andrew Breitbart in 2012.
Alex previously was host of the flagship SiriusXM talk show, Breitbart News Daily. That show still airs weekdays 6 – 9 a.m. on Patriot Channel 125, with new host Mike Slater. Alex is now host of:
The Alex Marlow Show, a daily podcast focusing on news, America-first politics, culture, and values. You can find it on every podcast platform. Breitbart Confidential, a daily tv show for those who join the Breitbart Fight Club. It’s an insiders’ look at our editors’ ahead-of-the-curve thinking and analysis.
